Water System Work - Gilford
Operations staff will be conducting necessary work on the water system at the intersection of 20th Sideroad and Shore Acres Drive, on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 between the hours of 7:30am and 3:00pm.
The water system will be isolated and pressurized by two tanker trucks connected to Fire Hydrants. As such, no interruption to the water service in the Gilford area is anticipated during this time. However, residents may notice reduced water pressure. Please see the below map for the impacted area.
IMPORTANT: It is imperative that water is not used in excess as it will strain the system and could cause complete failure to all residents. You may want to fill containers ahead of time to have extra water on hand during this time.
When full water service is restored, you may experience air in plumbing or discoloration in water. We would recommend that you refrain from water consumption activities until discolouration is gone (for example doing laundry). We recommend that you run your cold water taps for a few minutes to flush out any sediment which may have accumulated within your water service line and any air trapped in the line.
We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation.
