Licences and Permits

InnServices is required to hold a number of licenses to ensure safe treatment and delivery of our drinking water.

The Municipal Drinking Water Licensing (MDWL) Program

The Licensing Program is the current approvals framework for municipal residential drinking water systems. In order to be issued a licence, the ministry requires that an owner have the following in place:

A Drinking Water Works Permit (DWWP):

• This permit provides approval to establish or alter a drinking water system and is obtained through application to the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP)

A Permit To Take Water (PTTW):

• This permit provides the approval to take water from the groundwater wells or Lake Simcoe water sources and is obtained through application to the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP)
