Temporary Shut Down to Water Service in Gilford
Please be advised that there will be an interruption to the water service in Gilford on Friday, June 24, 2022 between the hours of 8:00pm and 5:00am the next morning while our operations staff conduct necessary watermain repair work. To ensure the safety of our workers, water pressure will need to be lowered. The majority of the work is being completed at night to lessen the impact on residents. These repairs are necessary to avoid the instance of a possible failure in the water line.
IMPORTANT: During this time there will be little to no access to water. There will be reduced pressure in the system to allow enough water for toilet flushing. It is imperative that water is not used in excess as it will strain the system and could cause complete failure to all residents. You may want to fill containers ahead of time to have extra water on hand during this time.
When water is restored you may experience air in plumbing or discoloration in water. We would recommend that you refrain from water consumption activities till discolouration is gone (for example doing laundry). We recommend that you run your cold water taps for a few minutes to flush out any sediment which may have accumulated within your water service line and any air trapped in the line.
We apologize for any inconvenience, and thank you for your cooperation. If you have any concerns please contact the Town of Innisfil Customer Service Department Monday to Friday 8:30-4:30pm at 705-436-3710. If you have an emergency after hours please contact South Simcoe Police at 705-436-2141.
