Cookstown-Water Valve Replacement

There will be a temporary shutdown to water service along East John St & Elizabeth St in Cookstown while operations staff conduct necessary valve replacements. The shutdown will take place on Thursday, November 16, from 9am-5pm. Impacted customers have been notified via hand delivered notices.

IMPORTANT: During this time customers will not have access to water. It is advised to fill containers ahead of time to have extra water on hand during the disruption.

When water is restored, you may experience air in plumbing or discoloration in water. We would recommend that you refrain from water consumption activities until any discolouration is gone (for example doing laundry). Run your cold water taps for a few minutes to flush out any sediment which may have accumulated within your water service line and any air trapped in the line.
