Water Pressure & Flow

Low pressure or no water? Learn common causes and what you can check before contacting InnServices.

Water Pressure & Flow

Water pressure and flow can change from time to time for a variety of reasons. If you notice reduced pressure, low flow, or no water at all, there are a few things you can check first before contacting InnServices.

Why water pressure or flow may change

Water pressure and flow can change for a few common reasons, including:

  • High water use in your area
  • Nearby maintenance or watermain flushing
  • Plumbing fixtures or valves inside your home
  • Temporary air in the pipes after a service interruption

In many cases, pressure and flow return to normal without any action.

Low water pressure throughout your home

If water pressure is low at all taps, the issue may be related to the municipal system or a partially closed main shut-off valve inside your home.

If pressure does not improve and nearby homes are experiencing similar issues, please contact InnServices so we can investigate.

Low pressure at one fixture

If only one faucet or fixture is affected, the cause is likely within the home. Check for clogged aerator, partially closed valve, or plumbing issue.

Temporary pressure changes

Short-term pressure changes can occur after water service interruptions, watermain flushing, or during periods of high water use.

These changes are usually temporary. Running cold water at one tap for a few minutes may help restore normal flow.

No water from your taps

If no water is coming from any taps in your home, try these checks first:

• Make sure your main indoor shut-off valve is fully open
• Ask a neighbour if they also have no water
• In cold weather, pipes may be frozen, especially in basements, crawl spaces, or near outside walls
• Check for leaks or burst pipes inside your home
• If water recently returned after an interruption, run cold water for a few minutes to clear air from the pipes

If multiple homes are affected, there may be a temporary service interruption in your area.

If only one faucet or appliance has no water, the issue is likely inside your home and may require a plumber.

If the issue appears to be inside your home (such as frozen pipes or plumbing problems), contact a licensed plumber.

When to contact InnServices

Contact InnServices if:

Multiple homes in your area have low pressure or no water
• You believe there may be a municipal water service interruption
• You have completed the checks above and still have no water throughout your home

If the issue appears limited to your home or a single fixture, a licensed plumber may be able to help.
