Innisfil Heights Sewage Pumping Station 6

Innisfil Heights Sewage Pumping Station 6 - Municipal Class Environmental Assessment

In 2018, InnServices completed the Innisfil Master Servicing Plan (MSP) Update. This MSP was completed following the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) process to update the Innisfil Town-Wide Master Servicing Plan (2012). The MSP identifies recommended short and long-term capital water and wastewater servicing projects to accommodate the population and employment growth outlined in the Town of Innisfil Official Plan (2018) and OPA No 1.

As part of the MSP various alternatives were examined in order to provide servicing to the Innisfil Heights economic district, an area designated as a Strategic Settlement Employment Area. In order to promote, facilitate and maximize the planned expansion of this area, the MSP identified that a municipal sanitary sewage collection system is required. The MSP identified “Alternative 6, Option B: Establish a sanitary collection system connected to the Lakeshore wastewater system via Innisfil Beach Road for the first phase of development, …” as the preferred servicing alternative. As part of this alternative several sewage pumping stations were identified along the sewer route. As well the MSP identified a need to provide municipal wastewater servicing for the community of Stroud. Although the MSP identified municipal sanitary servicing for Stroud post 2031, InnServices has recently recognized that there possibly is a need for municipal servicing for Stroud much sooner than 2031. The MSP noted that these sewage pumping stations require a Schedule ‘B’ MCEA be undertaken in accordance with the Master Planning Procedures in the Municipal Engineers Association MCEA.

The Notice of Study Commencement was issued on September 16, 2021.
